Aparat BioKat M V oraz BioKat M III są urządzeniami przeznaczonymi do prowadzenia klasycznych regulacyjnych zabiegów biorezonansowych (bioenergetycznej terapii informacyjnej), zgodnie z formułą twórców i prekursorów tej metody – dr. F. Morella i inż. E. Rasche, oraz ich bezpośrednich kontynuatorów – m.in. dr. A. Scotta-Morley’a, dr. E. Hermanna, dr. J. Nienhausa, dr. Z.Gruby.
Bioenergetyczna terapia informacyjna jest metodą opartą na koncepcji połączenia medycyny akademickiej i medycyny naturalnej w oparciu o zasady akupunktury, elektroakupunktury, magnetoterapii, homeopatii, homotoksykologii, tradycyjnej medycyny chińskiej. Urządzenia BioKat M stanowią dodatkowe narzędzie pozwalające terapeutom uprawiać medycynę w sposób komplementarny, tj. łączyć wiedzę i doświadczenie medycyny szkolnej z metodami naturopatii. Zabiegi na aparacie BioKat M V są zabiegami regulacyjnymi i zaliczane są do metod medycyny niekonwencjonalnej. Zabiegi tego typu nie zastępują koniecznego leczenia konwencjonalnego, lecz w wielu przypadkach mogą być stosowane jako uzupełniające i towarzyszące leczeniu podstawowemu.
Urządzenia BioKat M są certyfikowanymi wyrobami medycznymi, jednakże zabiegi (tzw. bioenergetyczna terapia informacyjna) zaliczane są do metod medycyny niekonwencjonalnej.
Parametry wprowadzonych do pamięci aparatów BioKat M programów zabiegowych zostały ustalone na podstawie długoletnich obserwacji i doświadczeń praktycznych, począwszy od dr. Morella. Znalazły także zastosowanie w kontrolowanych badaniach klinicznych. O zastosowaniu metody w danych przypadku i o wdrożeniu dodatkowych środków i metod decyduje terapeuta. Zabiegi regulacyjne nie stosuje się w ostrych stanach klinicznych wymagających interwencji lekarza specjalisty.
